No. While the stem of our metal keycap is metal as well, we calibrate each stem before leaving the factory to match standard MX tolerances. They ensure a secure fit that will not degrade or damage normal profile plastic switch stems during careful installation or removal.

Do these artisan keycaps support RGB backlight shine-through?

It depends on the specific model. For instance, the ESC and Enter keys in the Aluminum Alloy Artisan series feature hollow characters with acrylic backings that allow backlighting to penetrate.  Due to the physical manufacturing process, the micro-parts in contact with the electrophoresis hanger may not be perfectly colored. This is an unavoidable technical characteristic of the processing method.
