I am someone who suffers from hand pain from typing a lot, I typically feel some pretty terrible pain in my hands whenever I use the built in Macbook keyboard so I carry around my Gateron Clear ergodox around with me whenever I can. It isn't necessarily the most portable set up, but it's worked for me.
I recently stumbled upon the K7 and ordered some of the optical whites so that I could fire this up with low resistance keys (I'd love if they went even lighter).
In any event, this is the absolute best thing for me that I've found. However, there are some quirks.
- Key trigger without pressing the switches all the way in.
- If I press the lower row keys hard enough, it triggers the space bar for some reason . . .
In any event, these things are so minor and don't affect me during normal usage, so I will not complain. This is the most portable solution I've found that's allowed me to use my Macbook as a laptop. I can't wait for lighter switches and more options!
Just receive today the k7 and everything is just perfect, design, wheight, sound, color, it's just perfect, kudos on the keychron team for an exelent keyboard!!
I had the Blackwidow v3 which was fine but not portable. this is an excellent portable keyboard with a lot of functionalities in a small space. i use a mac so i can't say for the performance for windows but the connection is very fast and reliable. the colors are nice (but are not as bright on BT mode!, you need to connect the usb c for the brightest lights). alternate keycaps can be hard to find, especially due to the keys like the space bar or enter requiring extra customization. i like the height and the clicking sounds (brown switches) and i don't find myself getting tired from typing (i work with data). for the price, i think this is a great deal and will last you practically forever and a half. yes there is a slight delay in the bluetooth connection when starting from sleep but i don't mind it. i do wish that the esc key cap isn't orange...otherwise this keyboard is beautiful in both appearance and utility. the magic keyboard from apple got nothing on this and for practically half the price.
Let me start off by saying this : WOW ! This keyboard is premium quality. Everything about it is top notch. I bought the K7 with Keychron Banana switches and i was hesitant at first to buy those switches but am I ever glad I bought those switches. To me they are so quiet and the actuation point is just perfect and i find that those keys are perfect to write during hours on end. I find that these keys are even better than the linear switches like the red switches. The only point that Keychron could make better is the lighting when in bluetooth mode. The intensity of the lighting could be improved a bit. Maybe put in a bigger battery. I would also have inversed the LEDs that are positioned at the top of every key cap and placed them at the bottom of the key cap instead. Because let's face it, we see the bottom of the keys much more than the top when the lights are on. Keychron, if you read these comments, I highly suggest that you implement this feature the way i described it. Heck ! you did it for the new keyboard Q8. Why not do it for all other keyboards ? Overall just a solid keyboard and that is why I give this keyboard 5 stars because it is high quality and it even beats my previous keyboard hands down. I just love the low profile nature of this keyboard. Also, you can customize this keyboard to your heart's content. Keep up the amazing work Keychron. You guys will sell millions of these keyboards. And I am not getting paid to give that review. Just a fantastic keyboard. I will definitely buy again from Keychron. Delivery was amazingly fast too. It took only 3 days to go from China to Quebec, Canada.
I was actually waiting for this keyboard for quite some time even before it went to production. The keyboard is awesome, build quality is good for the price. Definitely will be looking for another low profile keyboard in the Keychron line up once I get bored with the current setup (K7 Low Profile + Brown Switches).
The K7 has included keycaps for both Windows and Mac operating systems.
