Slightly disappointed.

I will say this first and foremost. I've bought 3 Q1's, a Q2, and a Q8. All of which I love. A lot.

Which brought me to the Q10. After receiving this board, I noticed that it was beautiful. Everything was right. Even to the custom tape mod on the back. So many changes and improvements since the original Q1.
I'm a person that tends to mod my boards, but sadly, I've tried everything with the q10. It sounds so hollow and pingy no matter what I try. I've tried different foams, keycaps, switches, force breaks, etc. And nothing has gotten me past the case ping. I have no idea what's wrong. It's so hollow...

That said, I'm still giving it 4 stars. I still think this brand and their boards are the best. They changed everything when it comes to keebs and my lineup is completely different because of them. Thank you guys.

For this kind of layout, having an option around 200usd is great, and even better when it is at this level of build quality and customization

98/100. Amazing board, but a bit of wasted space

Love, love, love my Q10. It's my daily driver now and honestly, I'm even thinking about picking up a second one once the Deep Purple barebones are back in stock, but it's not PERFECT. There's wasted space between the Right Alt and the arrow cluster that could have seen two or even three extra keys, maybe a Right Ctrl and a Fn2 allowing even more layers of customization.

I went for the Gateron Blues for my order and honestly I'm underwhelmed by the switches themselves, as a fan of super clicky switches. Swapped them out for Kailh Box Navy and I'm much happier. (I'd order it with Reds if I was buying a full kit over again.) I do like the caps that are included with the full kit, but I also upgraded those to the Cerakey ceramics, and the thing is just a wonderful symphony of click and clack and thock all at once.

For those missing the Home/End/PageUp/PageDown keys, just bind them in VIA to Fn + the arrow keys. Takes care of the issue right there.

Great keyboard. Got used to the layout in under an hour (I tried several ergo keyboards and couldn't get used to them, this is a great compromise/stepping stone).

The only thing it's missing is an END key. There are places within the layout for it to fit (under HOME, or left of the arrow keys). They could at least include one in the box, so you can replace (for example) the second B or ALT with END.

This thing feels and works great. Also, solid, heavy and built like a tank. Pretty sure it will last forever. I wanted a more ergonomic style keyboard to (hopefully) stave off my incipient carpel-tunnel symptoms. And even after just a few days, my wrists feel better. Love the layout of this keyboard. I thought it might take a while to get used to the different angle for the keys, but, if anything, it feels more "natural" than the typical "straight" layout.

Being a mechanical keyboard 'noob', I selected the Brown switches, and they seem like the perfect combination of feel, sound and touch, but it is nice to know that I can swap them out easily in the future if desired. I picked the Q10 over the Q8 because I really needed both an "Escape" and "Back Tick/Tilde" key, but I wish that I could achieve that with the smaller and lighter Q8 model keyboard since I rarely, if ever use anything but the main (60%) keyset with various shift modifiers keys. Even so, this is a fantastic keyboard, and the only thing I would like to see added is a wireless option (ideally such that you could use either wireless or USB as needed).

All-around customizable keyboard

To build a fully customizable keyboard, we designed every component easily assembled. Therefore, you can customize and adjust each component you want.

Double Gasket Design

The Double Gasket Design is a new innovative structure in the industry. In addition to the gaskets on the plates, we added silicone pads between the top and bottom cases to significantly reduce the sound resonance between the metals and reduce the noise of the impacted metals. This design allows the keyboard to maintain the flexibility of the gasket structure and improves the overall typing sound.

An Epic Core Inside The Keyboard

A powerful ultra-low-power ARM architecture MCU equipped with 128K Flash will provide more flexibility for developers.  The polling rate is 1000 Hz out of the box, which makes latency non-existent for the competitive game.

OSA Profile Double-shot PBT Keycaps

These double-shot PBT keycaps have a similar height to the OEM profile and has an SA-like shape. We named it the OSA (OEM spherical angled) keycap. The PBT keycaps will provide excellent oil resistance, enhance the type feel, and prevent the legends from fading out.

Get the Q10 keymap working on VIA

Since the VIA code for the Q10 is still awaiting approval from Github, it is not yet automatically recognized, you will need to manually download and import the Q10 keymap.

To get started, please follow the steps: Download the appropriate keymap JSON file below, open VIA, turn on "Show Design tab" on "Settings" tab, enable "Use V2 definitions (deprecated)" on the "Design" tab, and drag the JSON file into the “Design” tab on VIA to get the Q10 keymap working on VIA.

Hot-swappable

The hot-swappable sockets are mounted on the PCB, so you can install or change the switches without soldering. The PCB supports both 3 pin and 5 pin MX mechanical switches.

South-facing RGB LED Lights

The south-facing RGB LED is designed to better illuminate the keyboard backlight from the typist’s angle with the premium non-shine-through PBT keycaps installed. The south-facing RGB is also free from interference when the users install OEM or Cherry-profile alternative keycaps on the keyboard.

Pre-lubed Gateron G Pro Switch

By optimizing the switch mold, the Gateron G Pro switch wobbles less than a standard mechanical switch and feels smoother on each hit. Plus, the factory pre-lubed process on all the G Pro switches (exclude the clicky ones), no doubt this will ensure the best smoothness at your fingertips when typing.

All New Screw-in PCB Stabilizers

The screw-in design increases stability and makes it easier for changes and upgrades. Precise craftsmanship makes the stabilizers more stable and less shaky. The big keys’ (space bar, shift, enter, delete) typing experience is now more stable and smooth. The Keychron Q10 also supports third-party screw-in PCB stabilizers.
